METHOD 1 - SIGNAL BUTTON
Put the unit OFF.
Press and hold TEMP and SIGNAL buttons all at the same time.
While holding them down, press POWER until code appears.
METHOD 2 - DAMP DRY BUTTON
Put the unit OFF.
Press and hold TEMP and DAMP DRY buttons all at the same time.
While holding them down, press POWER until code appears.
If Method 1 and 2 fail, try this TIMED DRY METHOD
Power the dryer ON and set the cycle to TIMED DRY.
Use the TEMP button to select the highest heat.
Press the START/PAUSE button. let the unit run for one minute. proceed to step 3
If you DO NOT get , download a copy of your Owner's Manual for model-specific instructions or use TIMED DRY METHOD above.
If runing a timed dry method, the In5 may not display, proceed to Step 3. If you get an error code, resolve the Error Code here and restart this heat test.
Start heat test.
Press the START/PAUSE to begin. This test will take about three minutes.
Keep an eye on the Flow SenseTM indicator and error codes on the display.
Check results.
Do you see any error code on the indicator? (nP, PS, d85 or others)
Is the Flow Sense indicator lit?
Now, open the dryer and feel the inside of the drum, does it feel warm or cold?

No Error Codes
Since there is no error code on the unit, we need to know if the drum feels cold or warm after the heat test.
Is the drum warm or cold?

When no error code or bars appear on the flow sense and the dryer feels cold, this is a power issue, follow the troubleshooting steps below:
For electric units.
Make sure that the plug is securely plugged into a grounded outlet matching the dryer's rating plate.
From the home's main, turn OFF the dryer's circuit breaker for at least 10 seconds to clear the power surge inside the breaker.
Put your dryer on power ON and run the heat test again.
If the dryer is still not heating at this stage, the unit requires a repair service. Please visit our Request a Repair page.
For gas units.
Ensure that gas is flowing throughout the house. Use another gas unit to test if gas is runing in the house. If there is no gas in the house, contact your gas company for further assistance.
If gas is flowing in the house, check your gas connection as described below
Check gas connection.
Check that the gas line is securely connected to the dryer (back-bottom-right of the dryer).
Check gas valve.
Check that the gas shut-off valve is fully opened and turned to the correct direction.
Pinched gas line.
Be sure that the gas line is not pinched or kinked when the dryer is pushed back into place.

No Errors & WARM Drum
The unit is heating and there is air flow. The likely culprit of this long drying time is either of the following:
Energy Saver Mode
- How to Disable Energy Saver Permanently
Energy saver mode is designed to reduce energy consumption by operating the unit with very low heat. You can turn off energy saver mode each time you use the dryer by pressing the ENERGY SAVER button.
The light on the button will turn off, and your clothes should dry properly now.
If you do not have an energy saver button, Proceed to Step 2

On some dryers, it is possible to disable energy saver mode permanently:
Press and hold the wrinkle care button until OFF appears on the display (about 3 seconds).
In some cases, energy saver could still be enabled for other cycles. Use the wrinkle care button whenever you see the energy saver button's light on.
Clogged Lint Filter
When the lint filter is dirty or clogged, it will cause long time drying. Always clean the lint from the filter after every cycle. Open the dryer door and pull the lint filter straight up.
How to Clean the Lint Filter- x
Clean the lint filter using any of the options below:
Everyday
For everyday cleaning, roll any lint off the filter with your fingers or a long handle brush.
Clean with vacuum
Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the lint filter.
Wash with water
If the lint filter has become very dirty or clogged with fabric softener, wash the lint filter in warm, soapy water and allow it to dry thoroughly before reinstalling.
Load size.
SMALL LOAD SIZE.
When drying smaller size loads, it may be better to use TIME DRY instead of sensor dry to achieve better drying performance.
LARGE LOAD SIZE
As long as the items can freely tumble in the dryer, the load is fine.
If the clothes are unable to tumble, then the load is too large and some items will need to be removed.
Clogged moisture sensors
The moisture sensor detects the dryness level of the cloths. If the sensors are clogged, the sensors will not read correctly and cause the unit to shut off before items are dry.
Use a damp rag or paper towel and wipe them to remove any build up on the sensors.
We recommend that the sensors are cleaned at least once a month with a damp rag or paper towels.
After you clean the sensors, run another cycle.
Air flow obstructions.
The hot, humid air from the dryer has to go somewhere, or else the moisture will stay in the drum and clothes. 2 or 4 four bars on the flowsense indicate that the exhaust system is severely restricted.

If the drain hose was extended, the dryer will not drain well because of the increased resistance. It is recommended to only use the standard LG drain hose.
Press the START/PAUSE button to start the dryer again after checking that the drain hose is not kinked, twisted, or clogged.
Check power cord connection.
Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into a grounded outlet matching the dryer's rating plate of 240V.
Reset the circuit breaker.
From the home's main, turn OFF the dryer's circuit breaker for at least 10 seconds to clear the power surge inside the breaker.
Inspect home outlet.
If the nP error is displaying, the home's outlet may need to be checked by a licensed electrician in order to ensure that the correct voltage is supplied to the dryer.
Request a Repair.

Unplug the dryer or trip the circuit breaker supplying power to the dryer off.
While the dryer is without power, press and hold the Start/Pause button for 5 sec.
Restore power and try to run a cycle.
Check power cord connection.
Make sure the power cord is securely plugged into a grounded outlet matching the dryer's rating plate of 240V.
Reset the circuit breaker.
From the home's main, turn OFF the dryer's circuit breaker for at least 10 seconds to clear the power surge inside the breaker.
Inspect home outlet.
If the unit was just installed, you should call the installer to have them check the power cord installation and the wall outlet.
Request a Repair.
If the dryer is still not heating at this stage, the unit requires a repair service. Please visit our Request a Repair page.
Unplug the dryer, or trip the circuit breaker supplying power to the dryer.
While the dryer remains without power, press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 5 seconds.
Restore power to the dryer and attempt to run another cycle.
Power the dryer ON.
Select the SteamFresh™ cycle.
Press the MORE TIME button until big is shown in the display.
Press the START button.
Unplug the dryer, or trip the circuit breaker supplying power to the dryer.
While the dryer remains without power, press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 5 seconds.
Restore power to the dryer and try to run another cycle.
Press PAUSE to temporarily stop the running cycle.
Fill the steam feeder with tap water to the MAX fill line.
Power the unit off and back on again, select the STEAM cycle, and press the START/PAUSE button to finish the cycle.
Power the dryer OFF and unplug it from the electrical outlet (You can also trip the circuit breaker if that's easier).
Press and hold the START/PAUSE key for 5 seconds while the unit is without power.
Turn the breaker back on, and power on the unit.
Note: The E13 error code will only display on Hybrid Condensing Dryers.
If the E13 error code is showing on the dryer's display:
If the E13 error code occurs again, the unit will require a repair service. Please visit our Request a Repair page.
FO (Filter Out) Display
An FO error or a flashing INSERT FILTER on the dryer's display indicates that the lint filter should be checked to ensure that it is inserted properly.
When the lint filter is not inserted properly, the sensor inside the dryer will display FO, and the dryer will stop working. Remove the lint filter and reinsert it into the lint filter housing.
If the error continues to appear on the display screen, the unit may require a repair service. Please visit our Request a Repair page.
HS Error Code
HS error code on the dryer's display indicates that the dryer has detected an error with the HUMIDITY SENSOR.
The HS error code will cause the dryer to run for 21/2 hours, which may seem as though the dryer is not drying.
If the HS error is displayed, clean the sensors on the inside of the dryer, located below the lint filter. Allow the sensors to fully dry before attempting another cycle.

Error Code
A nP error code on the dryer's display indicates that there is a problem with the electrical wiring in the home, and that no current is being detected at the heater.
PF Error Code
This usually happens after a power outage. To fix it, we're going to do a factory reset.

Error Code
A PS error code on the dryer's display indicates that there is improper voltage with the power cord, which could be caused by the white and red wire connections being reversed on the dryer's terminal block.

tE1 Error Code
A tE1 error code on the display of the dryer indicates a problem was detected with the dryer's thermistor. If the tE1 error code is showing on the dryer's display:

tE2 Error Code
A tE2 error code on the display of the dryer indicates a problem was detected with the dryer's thermistor, normally during cold conditions. The extra humidity in the dryer's vent during the SteamFresh™, Steam Sanitary™, or Steam Option cycles cause the duct to cool down faster, resulting in the dryer displaying the tE2 error.

tE3 Error Code
A tE3 error code on the display of the dryer indicates a problem was detected with the dryer's thermistor. If the tE3 error code is showing on the dryer's display:

Add (Add Water)
An Add Water error reading on the dryer's display indicates that there is a water supply error.
Before using a steam cycle, the steam feeder must be filled with water up to the MAX indicator lines. Check the steam feeder to be sure that it is full of water and that the drawer is completely closed.
Note: Do not use distilled water in the steam feeder drawer
If the Add Water reading appears on the dryer's display after a cycle has started:
Check Filter
Check filter is not an error, it was designed to serve as a reminder to clean the lint filter before each use to ensure great drying every time.
The indicator turns off when you turn the cycle knob to select a drying program or when the START/PAUSE button is pressed.
CL (Child Lock)
A CL code or CHILD LOCK reading on the dryer's display is not actually an error code, but rather an indication that the Child Lock feature is active.
For most models, press and hold the key labeled CHILD LOCK for 3 seconds to disable the Child Lock feature.
Note: When the child lock feature is active, the control panel is disabled and settings cannot be adjusted.
Cooling / Drying Light
This is normal. The machine runs a dry portion and cooling portion of the cycle. The cooling portion of the cycle does not begin until the last 5 minutes of the cycle.
Wrinkle Care
This display is not an error code and does not indicate that there is a problem with the dryer. When activated, wrinkle care functions at the end of the drying cycle and will continue to tumble the dryer drum to prevent wrinkles.
The drum will rotate for 10 seconds and then off for 6 minutes. It will run for up to 3 hours. If the door is opened during this time, the Wrinkle Care option will turn off.

Thermal Fuse:
The dryer's thermal fuse is a non-resettable safety fuse that is designed to break electrical contact to the dryer's heater if the dryer becomes too hot. This fuse will often burn out due to clogged dryer ducting or a defective cycling thermostat. The thermal fuse along with a broken door switch is the most common cause of electric dryers that will not start.Test:How-To Test A Dryer Fuse Video.
Disconnect all connecting wires and check for continuity across the two wire contacts. There should be no resistance measured (a closed circuit, allowing electricity to flow).
Hi-Limit Thermostat:
The hi-limit thermostat is a safety switch that will break electrical contact to the dryer's Heating Element if it senses that the dryer has become too hot. The hi-limit thermostat will cycle the dryer's burner or heater off if the ducting has become clogged blocking proper airflow.Symptoms are usually a very short heating cycle with a low drum temperature, or no heat at all. The hi-limit thermostat is a fairly reliable dryer component and is rarely the cause of dryer heating problems.
Test: Disconnect all connecting wires and check for continuity across the hi-limit thermostat or sensor set.
Thermal Cut-Off:
The dryer's thermal cut-off is similar to the thermal fuse and the high limit thermostat. It will break electrical contact to the dryer's burner or heating element if it senses that the dryer is reaching an unsafe temperature. The thermal cut-off is a set of two thermostats, one of which will not reset once cool. The thermal cut-off needs to be replaced as a set. If this set of dryer parts fails you will need to check your dryer and home ducting for clogging. And check to make sure that the dryer's cycling thermostat is operating properly. Test: Disconnect all connecting wires and check for continuity across the terminals. The thermal cut-off should be closed (allowing current to flow) at room temperature.
Cycling Thermostat:
The cycling thermostat is responsible for cycling the dryer's heat source on and off to keep a target temperature, set at the timer or with a temperature selection switch. The dryer's cycling thermostat is a very reliable bi-metal thermostat that rarely fails. This thermostat is normaly closed, allowing electricity to flow freely. When the dryer heats up it will open, breaking electrical contact to the dryer's heat source and allowing the drum temperature to drop slightly, causing the thermostat to close again and reenergizing the dryer's heat source.The thermostat's operating temperature range is identified on the part with an 'L' followed by the temperature. For example, L130 would open (cycling the dryer's heat off) at 130ºF. A dash followed by another number, for example L155-10, would mean that the dryer thermostat would close after having cooled 10ºF. Faulty cycling thermostat symptoms could take the form of very high dryer temperatures, blown out thermal fuses, or no heat. The cycling thermostat works in connection with a thermostat heater to achieve lower dryer temperatures, such as low and medium heat settings.
Test: Remove all connecting wires and test for continuity. There should be no resistance measured when the dryer is cool (a closed circuit, allowing electricity to flow). Cycling temperatures can be roughly calculated with a meat thermometer held next to the dryer's exhaust duct. As the dryer heat source is cycled on and off, temperatures can be observed.
Thermostat Heater:
The thermostat heater is often located within the cycling thermostat. However, it may sometimes be a separate component mounted to the dryer's cycling thermostat. Depending on the dryer's temperature setting, more or less voltage is supplied to this heater. Low settings supply more voltage and create more heat, while medium settings supply slightly less voltage, generating less heat. High heat settings will not energize the thermostat heater at all. In this way the thermostat is tricked into thinking that the dryer is hotter than it actually is, so it opens at a lower drum temperature. Problems with this system can occur when the temperature selection switch fails to send the proper amount of voltage to the thermostat heater, or the heater itself fails to heat the thermostat.Test: Remove all connecting wires and check for resistance across the heater contacts. Approximately 3200-4000 ohms of resistance should be measured.
